Lake Care and Maintainence

Without a healthy and enjoyable Lake, our communities would simply not be the same. The water is what makes our lives what they are and it is up to Us to protect them. There are three ways in which we can all help.

One is by not introducing hazardous chemicals and excess organic material into the water table. Non Point Source pollution is when chemicals are indirectly entered into the water. Point Source pollution is when some dumkopf chucks his garbage right into the lake.

The second is to better protect the water quality (and your precious shoreline) by creating a more natural buffer between the water and the land. Wave action is only intensified by a rocky shoreline, a natural shoreline is like a soft cozy pillow, gently lulling the waves to sleep.

Thirdly, stop aquatic hitchhikers. There is no cure for these enemy invaders and we need to do everything in our power to curtail their spread. They migrate, by several means, to an area and, as a result of a lack of natural predators, thrives to the detriment of the local ecology.

That ecology includes us, our homes, our businesses, and everything that you see around you. Our water quality has improved dramatically over the past 30 years and there is still more to do.
